VARK learning style

Hi, I hope you are having a great week.

Let’s talk about our class from March 19th and 21st

First, on March 19th we reviewed the definition of multiple intelligences, to do so we made groups and read the definitions one by one. On the other hand, we learned the VARK learning styles which were introduced by Neil Fleming  and colleen Mills on 1992. The VARK learning styles, in simple words means:

Visual: People who learn best by seeing things, like pictures, diagrams, or written information.

Auditory: People who learn best by listening, like through lectures, discussions, or audio recordings.

Reading/Writing: People who learn best by reading and writing, like through textbooks, notes, or written instructions.

Kinesthetic: People who learn best by doing things, like through hands-on activities, experiments, or practical tasks.

We also did a test to find out our learning style and I got:

Multimodal (AK)

  • Visual 3
  • Aural 9
  •  Read/write 4
  •  Kinesthetic 8

On March 21st we classified a list of characteristics and assigned it to the 4 learning styles, then we discussed those paragraphs.

Later in groups we discussed the activities a group of auditory learners can do.  Our list of ideas was the following: Podcasts, watching videos, lectures, speeches, singing songs, watching movies, reading aloud, listening to music or audio materials, taking oral quizzes, and making student presentations.

On the other hand, these are my results of the VARK tests taken in class:

  •  Visual 11
  • Auditory  14
  • Kinesthetic 6

I agree with the results because when it is about memorizing something I rather to listen and repeat out loud.

Have a great vacation!
